Xiaomi is gearing up to update its wide range of Mi, Redmi and Redmi Note smartphones to Android 7.0 Nougat. In a new report, more than a dozen Xiaomi smartphones are said to be in line for the much anticipated Android 7.0 Nougat update, with an updated version of MIUI on top. According to the source, several popular devices including the Redmi Note 4, Redmi Note 3, Redmi 3S and 3S Prime, Mi Max are going to be updated to Nougat.
List Of Xiaomi Phones To Be Updated To Android 7.0 Nougat
While Xiaomi has not confirmed anything specifically, this report comes courtesy of Gizchina, a fairly trustworthy source.
In the Mi brand of smartphones, the report suggests that the Mi Mix, Mi Max, Mi Note 2, Mi5S Plus, Mi5S, Mi5 and Mi4 will be updated to Nougat. The Xiaomi Mi3, an extremely popular but old phone is missing from this list, which comes as a surprise – its internals are very similar to the Mi4.
Coming to the more popular Redmi range of phones, we are looking at Redmi 4 Prime, Redmi 4, Redmi 4A, Redmi 3S Prime and Redmi 3S to be updated to the latest version of Android.
Coming to the Redmi Note series, the report says that the Redmi Note 4 and the Redmi Note 3 will be updated to Android 7.0 Nougat. This report does not mention if Xiaomi will update the Mediatek variant or Snapdragon variant, but insofar, the Snapdragon variant of the Redmi Note 3 has received updates faster.
This means that Redmi Note 3 and Redmi Note 4 users in India can definitely look forward to receiving the Android 7.0 Nougat update on their phones. Xiaomi has launched the Snapdragon variants of the Redmi Note 3 and 4 in India.
