Hugo Barra renounced the position of Vice President of Xiaomi on January 23. Henceforth, the position has been vacant waiting to be chaired. Xiaomi’s market share is seeing downtrend both in homeland and India. Therefore, there will be a lot of pressure and expectations on the official, who is going occupy the position.
Maintaining the trend, Xiaomi opted for an official from the foreign land as its Vice President. We are proud to say he is none other than Manu Kumar Jain, current Managing Director of Xiaomi India.
“@manukumarjain, congratulations from the entire Xiaomi family on your promotion to Vice President of Xiaomi!” the company said in a tweet
While continuing in his current role, for now, he will also act as VP of Xiaomi. He will also join the elite list of Indians who occupy higher positions at multinational companies. Xiang Wang, a Senior VP replaces Hugo Barra. He is the former Qualcomm China president. Hugo Barra Left Xiaomi to head Facebook’s VR department.

His appointment may come as a surprise, but his track record justifies the decision. He started the journey with a small team in Bangalore and taken the company to greater heights in the country.
Under his leadership, Xiaomi rose to number one online smartphone selling brand in India and crossed $1 billion revenue mark. Manu Kumar Jain expects the company to sell 7 million handsets of the Redmi Note 4.
