Samsung Galaxy S8+’s infinite display is certainly an eye candy. However, if you manage to crack it, the screen replacement will cost you dearly. The curved Super AMOLED panel of the S8+ is priced as much as 25% more than that of the Galaxy S7 Edge. While the latter costs Rs. 13,900 (approx.) in India, the former will charge you around Rs. 17,500 (€250).
These are the prices which you need to pay if your repair your Galaxy S8+ from a Samsung Authorized Service Centre. As of now, there is no other way other than visiting the official service center. The main reason is that you will not get the S8+’s display in the local market anytime soon. Even if you get one after a few months, the local screen panels shall be nowhere near the quality of Samsung’s Super AMOLED panels.
Although the Galaxy S8+ comes with Gorilla Glass 5 protection, it is unlikely to withstand a bad fall. So, the first thing you should do is to get a good case for it. The next best thing which we strongly recommend you to do is to get a good insurance policy for your S8+.
Although the mobile insurance policies are gradually becoming popular, they still quite underrated in India. Honestly speaking, nowadays, investing in a decent smartphone insurance program is much better than buying a cover or case.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ are currently available for pre-order in India. Both the flagship smartphones are set to go on sale on May 2, 2017. We are eager to see if the South Korean manufacturer offers a free one-time screen replacement to the S8 / S8+ similar to the one it bundled on the Galaxy S7 Edge.
