Physical Overview

What makes Honor 8 Lite distinct from its competitors is its all-glass finish which is quite unique in the segment. The frame of the smartphone does not appear to be metal but, the 2.5D curved glass at the front and a clean finish at the rear give the phone premium appeal. The back of the phone features a fingerprint sensor which also acts as a touch-sensitive gesture controller. Through this, a user can set up the sensor to use it to swipe through pictures in the gallery, bring up the notification shade and more.

At the front, the 5.2-inch display is accompanied with front camera, speakers and different sensors at the top.

The bottom features the speaker grille and an USB-port.

Over the top, the phone has a 3.5mm audio jack.

The right side of the phone features volume rocker and power button.

The left side features hybrid dual-SIM slot.

Display

The Honor 8 Lite features a 5.2-inch full HD display with a screen resolution of 1920 X 1080 pixels. The phone has a decent output in daylight and viewing it from different angles have no problems. The screen is further covered with a 2.5D curved glass with a metal frame all around, which is similar to the Samsung’s A-Series. With EMUI 5.0, a new Eye Comfort feature is introduced which gives everything a yellow tinge, that makes the screen easier for the eyes, as claimed by the company.

Camera

Unlike, the Honor 8, the Honor 8 Lite misses on the dual camera setup. At the back, it is backed with a 12-megapixel camera with f/2.2 aperture and autofocus and an 8-megapixel selfie shooter at the front with a 77-degree wide-angle lens and f/2.0 aperture. The outdoor pictures were nice and detailed but, with some colors popping out much and few left out. The Autofocus feature is also quite handy. The wide angle lens was helpful and performed its function appropriately.

The images taken in the artificial light and low light also gave significant results and overall the camera did not disappoint us but, also did not give exceptional results.

With the Android 7.0 and EMUI 5.0 comes into function, the device performed smoothly and multitasking was quite hassle free. Although heavy gaming was not tested but, looking at the configuration, the smartphone will not disappoint the users.
