Nubia Z17 Launched With Dual Camera, Snapdragon 835, 8GB RAM

Nubia Z17 is probably the closest competitor of the upcoming OnePlus 5. The smartphone has just been launched in China with a whopping 8GB of RAM. It is probably the second handset to pack that much of RAM after the Asus Zenfone AR. Speaking of the price, the base model (6GB + 64GB) of Nubia Z17 costs 2799 Yuan (Rs. 26,500 approx.) while the 8GB + 128GB will retail at 3999 Yuan (Rs. 38,000 approx.). Nubia is a sub brand of ZTE.

Nubia Z17 Specifications

The successor of the Nubia Z11 sports a 5.5 inch Full HD display with 96 percent color gamut. The device comes with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. Speaking of the exteriors, Nubia’s latest flagship is certainly an eye candy. Its metal unibody construction along with the side-bezel less screen makes the Z17 the most premium device from the company.

The mighty Snapdragon 835 SoC running at 2.45 GHz powers up the phone. This is mated with 6 GB or 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64 GB or 128 GB of UFS 2.1 onboard storage. There is no micro SD card slot in the Nubia Z17. The phone runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with the Nubia UI 5.0 on top.

Camera-wise, the Nubia Z17 is a wonder. It boasts a dual lens setup at the back. This consists of a 12 MP dual pixel sensor along with a 23 MP unit. Together, they offer up to 2X optical zoom and 10X digital zoom. Moreover, a Sapphire glass covers up the rear camera aperture. For selfies, you get a 16 MP snapper with BSI (Back Side Illuminated) sensor.

Connectivity-wise, the Nubia Z17 supports 4G LTE, VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS, USB Type-C, etc. Unfortunately, the 3.5 mm headphone jack seems to be missing. A modest 3200mAh battery juices up the flagship handset.

Nubia Z17 Pricing and Availability

Coming to the pricing, the 6GB/64GB Nubia Z17 costs 2799 Yuan (Rs. 26,500 approx.), 6GB/128GB 3399 Yuan (Rs. 32,000 approx.) and the 8GB + 128GB will retail at 3999 Yuan (Rs. 38,000 approx.). The phone is currently available exclusively in China. It should launch in India sometime later.
