OnePlus 5 launch event is just a few hours from now. However, there is not much left to be known about the upcoming flagship. Starting from the specifications till the formal product image, we already know so much about the successor of the OnePlus 3T. Lately, The Verge has divulged the details of the dual camera setup of OnePlus 5 along with the official design prototypes of the smartphone.
OnePlus 5 Specs
Starting with the specifications, the OnePlus 5 will come with a 5.5-inch Full HD (1080 x 1920) AMOLED display. Externally, the handset would sport a full metal construction with subtle antenna lines. Moving inside, there shall be the powerful Snapdragon 835 SoC. The successor of the OnePlus 3T will run Android 7.1.2 Nougat out of the box with OxygenOS.
Memory-wise, the upcoming flagship will have two variants. The base model would come with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, while the top end one will get 8GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. There shouldn’t be a microSD card slot.
Pete Lau, the CEO of OnePlus has claimed that camera is the most emphasized part of the OnePlus 5. According to the reports, the soon to be launched flagship will come with a dual lens setup (20 MP + 16 MP) at the back. Lau has straightaway admitted that the camera module of the OnePlus 5 is greatly inspired by the Apple iPhone 7 Plus.
Coming to the details of the dual camera setup of the upcoming flagship, there will be a 16 MP primary shooter with f/1.7 aperture size mated with a 20 MP telephoto lens with f/2.6 aperture. Both the lens is sourced from Sony. The camera specs of the OnePlus 5 seem to be identical with the Oppo R11 and R11 Plus. Even though Oppo and OnePlus are owned by the company (BBK Electronics), the software part would be different in the respective brands.
Speaking of the connectivity options, the OnePlus 5 should come with all the major features including 4G LTE, VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5, etc. It is confirmed that there will be a 3.5 mm headphone jack too. A 4000mAh battery is presumed to juice up the device.

Talking about the pricing, we already have some plausible rumors. In India, the 6GB/64GB variant of the phone would cost Rs. 32,999, while the 8GB/128GB variant will retail for Rs. 37,999.
