HMD Global, the new owner of Nokia has launched two new feature phones – the Nokia 130 (2017) and Nokia 105 (2017) in India. The pricing of Nokia 105 starts at Rs. 999 while the pricing of Nokia 130 hasn’t been revealed yet. The company claims that this is the first Nokia feature phone that is priced at under Rs. 1,000 in India.
The Nokia 105 (2017) will be available for sale across retail stores in India from July 19 onwards. Nokia 130 (2017) will come soon and its price will be announced closer to its availability. Both the Nokia 130 (2017) and Nokia 105 (2017) will be available in dual and single-SIM variants in India.
These phones are fine additions in Nokia’s feature phone range after the Nokia 3310. To recall, the Nokia 3310 was launched earlier this year.
While announcing the release of the Nokia 105 and Nokia 130, Arto Nummela, CEO, HMD Global said, “With more than 4 billion people remaining offline and unable to benefit from the social and economic development opportunities of the internet, simply getting connected by voice and text is still such an important step for many people around the world.’’
Nokia 105 Specifications
The new Nokia 105 has a fresh design from the four-year old feature phone. Its design has been completely changed, just like the Nokia 3310 (2017) which has also got a new refreshed design. Nokia 105 features a 1.8-inch QVGA colored display and curved polycarbonate body with an island keypad.
On its upper side, it has a microUSB port (USB 2.0) and a 3.5mm audio jack. The Nokia 105 packs an 800mAh removable battery that offers up to 15 hours talk time and a month of standby time. Moreover, the Nokia 105 comes with preloaded games like the Snake Xenzia. It also has FM Radio. Nokia 105 comes preloaded with two other games – Doodle Jump and Crossy Road that are trial versions and can be purchased.
The Nokia 105 feature phone runs on the Nokia’s Series 30+ software platform. It packs 4MB of RAM and 4MB of storage. The storage capacity is supposed to store up to 500 text messages and up to 2,000 contacts. The phone weighs 73 grams, and its dimensions are 112 x 49.5 x14.4 mm.
Nokia 130 Specifications and Features
The Nokia 130 has more media-centric features like VGA camera and an MP3 player support. If we talk about design, it has rounded edges with a polycarbonate shell for good handling. The Nokia 130 (2017) features a 1.8 inch QVGA colored display, and it also runs on the Series 30+ software platform.
The microUSB port and the 3.5mm audio jack are situated at the top. While the camera and speaker grille are mounted at the rear. The phone packs a 4MB RAM, 8MB storage, and also supports microSD card allowing for expanding the storage up to 32GB.
The new Nokia 130 also supports Bluetooth connectivity. The feature phone is powered by a 1020 mAh battery that is said to offer up to 44 hours music playback with a headset, 11.5 hours of video playback, or up to a month on standby time. Nokia 130 also comes with Snake Xenzia and five other try-and-buy games. The dimensions of Nokia 130 are 111.5 x 48.4 x 14.2 mm.
Both the feature phones also have a LED torch light feature. Users can press the ‘up’ key twice to quickly turn the torch on and off.
Pricing and Availability
The Nokia 105 (2017) is priced at Rs. 999 for the single-SIM variant and Rs. 1,149 for the dual-SIM variant. The pricing of Nokia 130 will be revealed ahead of its availability.
The Nokia 105 is going to be available in Blue, White and Black options with a matte finish. While the Nokia 130 will be available in Red, Grey and Black color options.
