Xiaomi has launched the Mi Max 2 today in India. The phone was already released in China back in May. Priced at Rs. 16,999, the Mi Max 2 offers a huge battery along with a power efficient chipset from Qualcomm.
The successor of the Mi Max comes with a 6.44-inch display, full metal unibody, Snapdragon 625 SoC and a massive 5,300 mAh battery. The Mi Max 2 comes with dual stereo loudspeakers.
Xiaomi Mi Max 2 Specifications
The Mi Max 2 features a 6.44 inch full HD IPS LCD display along with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. The full metal unibody along with delicate antenna lines makes the phone look very refined. It runs MIUI 8 based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box. Xiaomi is working on the MIUI 9 update at the moment, which should be released in the coming weeks.
Coming to the hardware, the new Mi Max 2 is powered by the Snapdragon 625 SoC. It is a mid-level chipset with eight Cortex A53 CPUs running at up to 2.0 GHz. This is coupled with 4GB RAM along with 64GB inbuilt storage.
If we talk about the camera, the Mi Max 2 boasts a 12 MP rear camera with Sony IMX386 sensor. With a pixel size of 1.25μm which is larger than Mi Max, the Mi Max 2 should fare better in difficult conditions as well. Other features include PDAF, dual tone dual LED flash and support for 4K recording. The phone features a 5MP front camera.
On the connectivity front, the latest phablet supports dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS, NFC and Infrared. Also, the phone has a Type-C USB port.
The Mi Max 2 packs a huge 5300 mAh battery. The battery not only offers good power back but also charges quickly with the support of Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0. You can charge the Mi Max 2 battery from 0% to 68% in an hour.
Pricing and Availability
The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is priced at Rs. 16,999. It comes only in one variant – 4GB RAM with 64GB internal storage. The phone will be available in both online and offline channels.
As part of its 3rd anniversary, the Mi Max 2 will be available starting July 20th on Mi.com.
It will be available on Amazon.in, Flipkart, Tata Cliq and Paytm Mall starting July 27th. Offline partners like Big C, Sangeetha, LOT, Vijay Sales, Poorvika and eZone will also start selling the Mi Max 2 from July 27th.
Xiaomi Mi Max 2 Offers
Xiaomi has partnered with Reliance Jio to offer up to 100GB of data for free to its users. The offer terms state that users will get 10GB extra data with every recharge of Rs. 309 or above.
