Nokia 3 survives bend, scratch and fire tests, gets a good rating

Nokia has always been renowned for making highly durable phones. Now, its latest budget smartphone Nokia 3 has proved it yet again. Nokia 3 survived a bend, scratch and fire test, and emerged as a well-built phone.

Nokia 3 is the most affordable smartphone offering from HMD Global, the company which now makes Nokia phones. The phone has been put through the scratch, fire, and bend tests by famous YouTube channel JerryRigEverything. Where most budget smartphones couldn’t survive scratches or bends, the Nokia 3 has been found durable on most fronts.

The YouTuber who is known for conducting the durability tests of smartphones uploaded the video of the Nokia 3. He gave the good rating to the smartphone because of its built quality, offered at this price segment.

As seen in the video, the test started off with scratching the handset’s display. The display survived to some level because of Gorilla Glass protection and ended up getting a few scratches at level 6 on the Moch scale. Also, the fiberglass on the front managed to protect the selfie camera and capacitive buttons and didn’t get any scratches.

Coming to the rear of the Nokia 3 which is made out of plastic, it was easy to scratch as seen in the video. Also, the rear camera lens is made out of plastic which is prone to serious scratches. The side edges of the phone and buttons are made of metal and while scratching the sides, the paint fell off easily.

When put to the fire test, the display turns black quickly, but it was able to recover soon, thanks to IPS LCD. Lastly and most importantly, the Nokia 3 survived the ultimate bend test from both sides, without any serious damage.
