Panasonic P9 with Android 7.0 launched in India for Rs, 6,290

The Panasonic P9 is the latest budget phone from the Japanese smartphone maker and it comes with a 5 inch display, 8MP and 5MP cameras, quad-core processor, 1GB RAM and 16GB internal memory. The device has been priced at Rs. 6,290 and will be available from retail stores across the country.

Apart from these specifications, you will get dual SIM connectivity and Android 7.0 Nougat on the Panasonic P9. It is a 4G VoLTE compatible device at an entry-level price. Panasonic recently added two phones to their Eluga range and have also introduced Arbo, their AI assistant in select models.

Starting with the design, the Panasonic P9 features the volume rockers and lock button on the right side of the device and comes with on-screen navigation buttons. The Panasonic P9 sports a 5 inch FWVGA display with Asahi Dragontrail Glass for durability. The cameras comprise of an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera.

In terms of hardware, the Panasonic P9 comes with a Quad-core MediaTek MT6737M processor. This processor is coupled with 1GB RAM and 16GB Internal storage. The phone also supports microSD card expansion by up to 32GB. For an entry-level smartphone, these are fine specifications.


Coming to performance on the Panasonic P9, you get a slightly skinned Android 7.0 Nougat, optimized by Panasonic. Powered by a 2,210 mAh battery, the Panasonic P9 offers WiFi, Bluetooth, micro USB, and a 3.5mm earphone jack as standard connectivity options.

Pricing and Availability

The entry-level Panasonic P9 bears a price tag of Rs. 6,290. You get the option to choose between Champagne Gold and Black colors. It is already available at all major Panasonic retailers across the country.
