After launching the Mi A1, Xiaomi is getting ready for another smartphone launch. The Xiaomi Redmi 5A has been spotted on TENAA. While the listed model was codenamed Xiaomi MCT3B, the leaked specifications indicate clearly at what appears to be the Redmi 5A.

With entry-level specifications, the Xiaomi Redmi 5A is the anticipated successor of the Redmi 4A. Seen featuring a 5-inch display, the Redmi 5A is expected to come with a 13MP primary camera and an 8MP front camera. Let us have a look at the Redmi 5A leaked specifications.

While the Xiaomi Redmi 5A is expected as the next budget phone from Xiaomi, the TENAA listings show it to be worthy of succeeding the Redmi 4A.

Starting with the display, the Xiaomi Redmi 5A appears to feature a 5-inch TFT-LCD panel with HD resolution. As the Redmi 4A had an IPS display, switching to TFT screen seems like a compromise here. In terms of camera, the device may come with a 13MP primary and an 8MP front camera. The listings show that the camera is capable of 1080p video recording.

In terms of hardware, the listing shows it to pack a 1.4GHz processor, coupled with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage with up to 128GB expansion using microSD card. The device is expected to run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with MIUI 9 on top.

Listed with a 3,000 mAh battery, the Xiaomi Redmi 5A is expected to come with Bluetooth, WiFi, Infrared blaster, Micro USB port, and a 3.5mm earphone jack.

Pricing and Availability

As of now, the Redmi 5A hasn’t even been announced by the company. The device may be launched by the end of this year and it will be priced competitively.
