LG K7i is a smartphone that comes with mosquito away technology

LG Electronics today launched a unique smartphone in India, featuring an interest new mosquito away technology. Initially seen in the company’s TVs, the LG K7i has been launched with mosquito away technology keeping in mind the season’s harmful mosquito borne diseases. Users can choose to activate this mosquito away feature depending on their requirements.

Mosquitoes be gone! Thanks to ultrasonic sound waves

Explaining how this mosquito away technology works, LG says that the K7i uses sound waves to keep mosquitoes at bay. According to the company, “Mosquito Away” is a silent, invisible, colorless, odorless and perfectly user-friendly technology. LG claims that these ultrasonic sound waves are absolutely safe and harmless for humans, as per norms set up by global organizations.

Coming to the specifications of the LG K7i Mosquito Away phone, you get a 5-inch on-cell IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. It weighs about 138 grams and is 8.1mm thick. LG has launched the phone with Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which is a little surprising given that Marshmallow was launched more than 2 years ago.

The LG K7i is powered by a quad-core processor and comes with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage, which can be expanded using a microSD card.


On the rear, the LG K7i comes with a 8MP camera with an LED flash. On the front you get a 5MP camera and an LED flash for selfies and video calling.

Other features of the LG K7i include dual SIM, Wi-FI b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 and FM Radio. The phone is backed by a 2500mAh battery.

Pricing and Availability

LG K7i Mosquito Away smartphone has been priced at Rs. 7,990. It comes in Brown color only and will be available at offline retailers across the country in the coming days. LG has not revealed whether it will sell the world’s first mosquito repellant smartphone online.
