OnePlus 5T may be launched in November: 6-inch 18:9 display and more

After launching the OnePlus 3, the Chinese smartphone maker had launched the OnePlus 3T. Now, after the launch of the OnePlus 5, rumours have surfaced about the launch of the OnePlus 5T which is expected to be released in November this year. While there was no word about the OnePlus 5T so far, the sudden rumours seem to be genuine.

Gizmochina has posted about the phone with an image that is alleged to be the OnePlus 5T. The smartphone is tipped to come with a 6-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio. The front of the alleged OnePlus 5T looks similar to the Samsung Galaxy S8.

OnePlus 5T Rumours

OnePlus 5T leaked render Gizmochina

So far, the leaks indicate at a 6-inch display with a 2160 x 1080p resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. The phone is expected to be tall and slim, just like the Samsung Galaxy S8. Among other updates, we may get to see an upgraded battery capacity.

One more thing we noticed about the OnePlus 5T is the button placement. In the leaked render we can see the lock button at the right with volume buttons at the left. There is no bump or sign of the profile slider that has been there for a while on OnePlus phones.

To recall, OnePlus did the same in case of OnePlus 3 and the OnePlus 3T. The OnePlus 3T was released with a better battery and upgraded processor. However, the OnePlus 5 already comes with a Snapdragon 835 so we cannot expect a processor upgrade with the OnePlus 5T.

What we think about the OnePlus 5T is that there may be a battery increase. Since the OnePlus 5 was released with a 3,300 mAh battery, the OnePlus 5T may come with a 3,500 mAh unit. Also, if there is to be a OnePlus 5T, it may come with waterproofing as well. Since the OnePlus 5 was not water resistant, the OnePlus 5T may come with water resistance.
