After several rumors and leaks, ZTE has finally launched its foldable smartphone Axon M in the US. The ZTE Axon M is the company’s first phone with dual 1080p displays and it can be used in 4 different modes. ZTE Axon M has been launched exclusively with AT&T in the US and will be available for sale starting next month.
ZTE has been touting the new Axon M as a foldable multimedia device which can be fitted in the pocket easily when folded despite having two displays. Also, the smartphone comes with four modes. It includes a Dual mode which allows users to use two different apps on the separate screens. Another one is an extended mode which allows users to play games or stream video on a full 6.75 inch full HD display.
Next is Mirror mode which allows users to mirror the same content on both the screens when folded with both screens in different directions. And the last one is a traditional mode which allows users to use the device as a conventional smartphone. ZTE Axon M will be available at $24.17 per month (roughly Rs. 1,600) for 30 months on AT&T starting next month.
ZTE Axon M Specifications
If we talk about specifications, the ZTE Axon M features two 5.2 inch dual full HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) TFT LCD displays with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The phone runs on Android 7.1 Nougat and is upgradable to Android 8.0 Oreo.
It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor coupled with Adreno 530 GPU. It comes with 4GB of RAM and packs 64GB of internal storage which is also expandable with microSD card.
In the camera department, interestingly there is only a single 20MP camera which can be used for both rear and front-facing snappers. The camera comes with f/1.8 aperture, dual LED Flash, PDAF, and dual image stabilization.
Connectivity options include 3.5 mm audio jack, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4/5 GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, and USB Type-C port. For audiophiles, it has stereo speakers, Dolby Atmos, and AKM4962 audio chip. The handset packs 3,180mAh battery and supports Quick Charge 3.0.
Pricing and Availability
The ZTE Axon M will be available exclusively from AT&T in the U.S. It is priced at $24.17 per month with a 30-month contract that sums up to about $725 (Rs. 47,200 approx.). It will also be available in China, Europe and Japan soon.
