HMD Global has introduced a new variant of the Nokia 5 smartphone in India, offering more RAM at a slightly higher price. This new Nokia 5 variant comes with 3GB RAM and 16GB internal storage, along with the same 5.2-inch HD display and stock Android 7.1.1 Nougat.
HMD had introduced the mid-range Nokia 5 smartphone along with the Nokia 3 and the Nokia 6 back in June, offering a stock Android experience and the trustworthy Nokia build and design. The Nokia 5 went on sale in India in August at a price of Rs. 12,499, and HMD is now offering the 3GB RAM variant at Rs. 13,499.
Nokia 5 Specifications
Coming to the specs of the Nokia 5, it sports a 5.2-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) 2.5D curved display with Corning Gorilla Glass on top. It runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box, with the Android 8.0 Oreo upgrade guaranteed by HMD.
The Nokia 5 is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 430 processor clocked at 1.4 GHz coupled with Adreno 505 GPU. It comes in 2GB or 3GB RAM variants with 16GB of internal storage, expandable up to 128GB with a microSD card.
In the camera department, the Nokia 5 sports a 13MP autofocus rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and dual-tone LED Flash. On the front, there is an 8MP autofocus camera with f/2.0 aperture and an 84-degree wide-angle lens for better selfies.
Connectivity options include dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, and GPS. The phone is backed by a 3,000mAh battery.
Nokia 5 Price and Availability
The Nokia 5 is priced at Rs. 12,499 for the 2GB variant and Rs. 13,499 for the 3GB variant. It comes in Matte Black and Tempered Blue colours, and will be available exclusively on Flipkart starting today midnight. Wider availability starts from November 14th across select retail stores in the country.
