A recent e-commerce listing has revealed the looks of the upcoming Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 and it has also hinted at an imminent launch of the device. The Redmi Note 5 is to succeed one of the best selling phones of the company in India, the Redmi Note 4.
Briefly listed at Chinese retailer JD.com, the phone was first spotted by GizmoChina. Earlier too, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 was seen listed on TENAA in two variants with RAM and storage difference. While the TENAA leaks revealed specifications, the new leaks have shown the looks of the device.

Still in rumours, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is expected to launch soon as the leaks are pacing up. The design shown in the leaked listing shows the phone with an edge-to-edge display with minimal bezels on the sides.The volume rockers and lock button are spotted on the right side.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is tipped to come with a 5.9 inch full HD+ IPS LCD panel. The phone is also rumoured to have an 18:9 aspect ratio. In terms of optics, the phone is expected to pack a 12MP rear and a 5MP front-facing camera which seems basic, seeing Xiaomi’s recently shifted attention to cameras.
Coming to hardware, the TENAA listings unveiled a Snapdragon 636 processor clocked at 2.0 GHz. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is expected to come in two variants i.e. 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, and 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The phone is also tipped to feature a microSD card slot which will offer up to 256GB expansion.
Expected to run Android 7.1.1 Nougat with MIUI 9 skinned on top, the Redmi Note 5 should pack the latest offering from the Chinese smartphone maker. While this is about software, we may also see a big 4,000mAh battery with WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, Micro USB, and a 3.5mm earphone jack.
The listing puts the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 at a price of 8,888 Yuan, which translates to Rs. 8,750. We can safely conclude that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 will be a budget offering like its predecessor.
