Idea Cellular has updated its latest plan to take on Reliance Jio by offering more data benefits to its subscribers. Idea has upgraded its existing Rs. 309 prepaid recharge pack and now offers 1.5GB data per day instead of the 1GB it offered earlier.
Idea has not made any changes to its other existing plans. The telecom operator originally launched the latest Rs. 309 pack earlier this month with 1GB data limit per day. Now, due to Jio’s new plans, they have to upgrade their new plan.
Idea Rs. 309 plan benefits
The updated Rs. 309 pack from Idea comes with a validity of 28 days and offers unlimited local, STD, and roaming calls. It also offers free SMS on a daily basis. Notably, the plan now offers 1.5GB data daily instead of 1GB.
If we talk about calling benefits, Idea subscribers will get free outgoing calls with a cap of 250 minutes per day and 1,000 minutes per week and after that, one paisa per second will be charged. Similarly, free SMS will also be limited to 100 and post the limit it will be charged at Re. 1 per SMS.
Reliance Jio’s latest offer
Since the Idea Cellular Rs. 309 prepaid tariff takes on the Reliance Jio’s Rs. 309 plan, here are the details of what Jio is offering. In contrast to Idea’s latest pack, Jio is offering 1GB of daily data with a validity of 49 days instead of 28-days from Idea.
However, if we talk about the recently introduced Happy New Year 2018 Plans from Jio, they are offering more data benefits in its 28-days validity pack. Jio’s new plans are of Rs. 199 and Rs. 299 and these plans offer 1.2GB and 2GB data per day respectively.
Moreover, the Jio packs also include unlimited local and national outgoing calls and there is no capping on calls and SMS. Additionally, you will also get free access to Jio apps, including JioCinema, JioTV, and JioMusic with Jio’s pack.
