Chinese smartphone maker Oppo has announced its latest mid-range device, dubbed as the Oppo A83 in China, priced at 1,399 CNY. This device is the latest addition to the company’s ‘A Series’.
The Oppo A83 comes with an 8MP front camera with Face unlock feature and AI beauty technology. The device comes with a 5.7-inch display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 with minimal bezels.

The Oppo A83 runs on Android 7.1 Nougat with ColorOS 3.2 skinned on top. The device features a 5.7 inch HD+ IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. The device comes with a 2.5D curved glass display.
The Oppo A83 is powered by a 2.5GHz Octa-Core processor clubbed with 4GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card.
Coming to the camera department, the device sports a 13MP primary camera with an LED flash. On the front, the device sports an 8MP secondary camera for selfies and video calling. The front camera can also be used for unlocking the device. The company claims that the device can be unlocked using the user’s face in just 0.18 seconds.
The device is powered by a 3,180mAh battery. Connectivity options on the device include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack and FM Radio.
Pricing and Availability
The Oppo A83 is priced at CNY 1,399 and will be available in Champagne Gold and Black color options. The device will go on sale in China from December 29.
