After the global release of Android Oreo beta for Nokia 6, Nokia phone manufacturer HMD Global has rolled out the Oreo beta update for its Nokia 6 users in India just last week. The update is available via Nokia phone beta labs, the company has revealed.
Earlier last month, HMD global started rolling out Oreo beta update for the Nokia 6 but that time it was not available in India. Now, the company has started rolling out the update for the Indian users as well as it had promised. HMD Global’s Chief Product Officer, Juho Sarvikas has announced the same on his Twitter account.
Like earlier, the Android 8.0 Oreo beta update for the Nokia 6 will be available via Nokia phones beta labs and the beta testers will have to sign up for the same. Beta testers will be the first ones to test the Android 8.0 Oreo before the wider roll-out. The update is 1799.3MB in size and it is slightly bigger than the earlier beta update that was released in other countries. Though it has the same version number 5.140, it has some improvements and includes Android security update for December 2017.
We are starting today Oreo Beta Labs roll out for #Nokia6 in India. I understand that some of you may have been waiting for this 😬. Remember that Beta Labs is a test platform and commercial release is well on track 😀. Please jump in and give us your feedback!!!

How to install Android 8.0 Oreo update on Nokia 6
First of all, you need to have a working Nokia 6 phone. Now, visit Nokia phones beta labs page and create an account. After that validate your device by entering its IMEI number. Once you are done with the process, you will be getting the beta update via an Over-The-Air (OTA) update which might take up to 12 hours post activation. The program also offers an option to roll back to Nougat if you no longer want to continue with the beta test.
The Android 8.0 Oreo update will bring a host of new features to the Nokia 6. Some of the features include Background limits, Picture-in-Picture mode, notification dots, wide-gamut color for apps, Adaptive icons, Companion device pairing, Keyboard navigation, AAudio API for Pro Audio and many more.
