Japanese smartphone maker Sony has launched its latest device, the Xperia L2 at the CES 2018. The new budget smartphone from Sony is the successor of the Xperia L that was launched earlier. It will be available from late January 2018.
The Xperia L2 has been launched along with the Sony Xperia XA2 and the Xperia XA2 Ultra and is expected to be the cheapest option among the three devices. Sony has not revealed the prices of the devices but going by the specifications, the Xperia XA2 Ultra is expected to be the premium offering and the Xperia XA2 will be the mid-range variant.
Sony Xperia L2 Specifications
The Sony Xperia L2 runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat and features a 5.5 inch HD IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and an aspect ratio of 16:9. The display comes with Image Enhance technology and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass.
In terms of performance, the Sony Xperia L2 is powered by a quad core MediaTek MT6737T processor clubbed with with Mali-T720 GPU. It comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 256GB via microSD.
Coming to the camera department, the Sony Xperia L2 features a 13MP primary camera with f/2.0 aperture and an LED flash. On the front, the device sports an 8MP secondary camera with f/2.4 aperture and a 120-degree wide-angle lens. The device comes with a fingerprint sensor placed below the primary camera.
The Sony Xperia L2 is powered by a 3,300mAh battery and comes with Qnovo Adaptive Charging. Connectivity options on the device include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, NFC, 3.5mm audio jack and a USB Type-C port. Dimension wise, the device measures 150 x 78 x 9.8 mm and weighs 178 grams.
Pricing and Availability
The Sony Xperia L2 will be available in Black, Gold and Pink color options starting from late January. The company has not revealed any information about the pricing of the device.
