Oppo A83 with 18:9 display will go on sale from January 20 in India

Chinese smartphone maker Oppo is all set to launch its Oppo A83 smartphone in India on January 17. Now, Oppo India has confirmed that the Oppo A83 will be available for sale from January 20. The company has been teasing the launch of its latest device on its social media platforms.

To recall, Oppo has already launched the bezel-less Oppo A83 smartphone last month in China. Now, for India launch, the confirmation comes straight from company’s official Twitter account. The tweet says “Prepare to be stunned by the all new #OPPOA83. Its exceptional features are all set to leave you captivated. Available from 20th January! #CaptureTheRealYou“.

Oppo A83 Specifications

The Oppo A83 features a 5.7 inch full HD+ 2.5D curved glass display with a screen resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. The Oppo A83 runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat with the company’s own ColorOS 3.2 on top. It has a dimension of 150.5 x 73.1 x 7.7 mm and weighs 143 grams.

The device is powered by a 2.5GHz Octa-Core processor clubbed with 4GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card.

Coming to the camera department, the device sports a 13MP primary camera with an LED flash. On the front, the device sports an 8MP secondary camera for selfies and video calling. The front camera can also be used for unlocking the device. The company claims that the device can be unlocked using the user’s face in just 0.18 seconds.

The device is powered by a 3,180mAh battery. Connectivity options on the device include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack and FM Radio.

Pricing and Availability

The Oppo A83 price in China starts at 1,399 Yuan (Rs 13,900 approx.). So, it is expected that Oppo A83 price in India will also be under Rs 15,000. The phone comes in Champagne Gold and Black color options in China.
