Nokia 9 might be launched at MWC 2018 on February 25

HMD Global might launch its flagship Nokia 9 at the Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona. The Nokia phone maker is expected to unveil a couple of Nokia smartphones at the upcoming event. The company has sent out invites for its MWC event, which will take place on February 25th.

While HMD Global’s invite does not mention the name of the devices to be unveiled at the event, several reports suggest that the company will announce the flagship Nokia 9 and a new edition Nokia 8 at the MWC. The invite reads, “Join us at the home of Nokia phones for an intimate and exclusive unveiling of the next chapter of our story.”

Nokia 9 Specifications

The Nokia 9 will be featuring the trendy 18:9 display with a 5.5-inch screen with 2K resolution. The phone will be running on the latest Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.

The device is expected to be powered by Snapdragon 835 SoC instead of the latest Snapdragon 845 processor. It will be coupled with 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage.

In the camera department, the rumors suggest the Nokia 9 will pack a dual rear camera setup with Zeiss optics. The Nokia 9 is expected to sport 12MP + 13MP image sensors as part of the rear camera.

The Nokia Camera app has also revealed that HMD Global plans to add 2x optical zoom and wide-angle mode to its smartphones this year. Apart from that, as revealed by the FCC listing of the device, there will be a 5MP selfie camera on the front.

The Nokia 9 is expected to be powered by a 3,250mAh battery with fast charging technology and a USB Type-C port. HMD global has not yet revealed anything about the devices it will launch at the MWC 2018.
