Google is now replacing Pixel, Pixel 2 devices with microphone issues

Google Pixel smartphones have faced multiple issues one after another, starting with the burn-in on the display panel, screen flash when the phone is unlocked, faulty headphone adapter, unresponsive edges and buzzing sound during calls. Some of these issues were caused due to software bugs, for which, Google has already rolled out patches via OTA updates but some of them are hardware issues which can’t be fixed via a software update.

Recently, some of the Google Pixel reported that their microphone is not working properly during calls. The users had to switch to the loudspeaker to listen to the calls. Google is now arranging the replacement of the Pixel smartphones that have been affected with this issue and the user has to apply for this replacement.

Google Pixel User Community Manager, Orrin, said about this, “Looks like there are a number of different situations being reported, and I wanted to hop in and offer some clarification. If you are experiencing microphone issues on your Pixel device, please do one of the following:

Pixel in warranty – Please contact Google 1:1 support. You can do this by going through the settings app in your device, or by clicking “contact us” in the upper right-hand corner of the Help Center

Pixel out of warranty – Please contact the authorized service partner. This will vary depending on the country and you can find a list here

Pixel 2 – Please contact Google 1:1 support”

There are some users who reported that they got the replacement but the replacement device also suffers from a similar issue. If you own a Pixel smartphones and are facing this issue, then you need to contact Google Support.
