India’s third largest telecom operator Idea Cellular has revised three of their unlimited prepaid tariff plans and is now offering 1.4GB per day to compete with other telcos. As other operators recently updated their plans already, there was no point in Idea not offering more data for less.
Idea has revised the Rs. 199, Rs. 449, and Rs. 509 prepaid plans to offer 1.4GB data per day. This move is following the steps of Reliance Jio and Airtel, both of which recently revised data offers. Here are the complete details of the offer and how to get it. While Telecomtalk has confirmed the rollout of new tariffs in Tamil Nadu circle, these plans are expected to expand to other circles in the coming days.
Idea Rs. 1,99, Rs. 449, and Rs. 509 Plans
To recall, Idea is offering 3G data instead of 4G data that is offered by its competitors. However, the telco is balancing the plans to meet that of the competition by offering similar benefits. In a recent bid, they have revised three of their unlimited data plans to offer 1.4GB daily data.
Starting with the Rs. 199 plan, the prepaid plan comes with a validity of 28 days. You get unlimited local+STD calls as well as unlimited roaming outgoing calls. The plan also gets you 100 local and national SMS daily. The plan now offers 1.4GB daily data, in total offering 39GB data.
The Rs. 449 plan and Rs. 509 plan has also received similar revision. While Idea’s Rs. 449 plan is valid for 82 days, the Rs. 509 tariff is valid for 90 days. Both the plans offer unlimited local + STD calling along with unlimited roaming outgoing calls. You also get 100 daily local/National SMS with these plans. Coming to data, the Rs. 449 Idea Cellular tariff is offering a total of 114GB with a cap of 1.4GB daily data, and the Rs. 509 tariff will get you a total of 126GB data with a daily cap of 1.4GB.
After Reliance Jio revised its plans, Airtel followed suit by offering 1.5GB daily data on select plans. Now, Idea Cellular is also offering 1.4GB daily data, however, it would be better if Idea updated to 4G networks like its competitors to offer more value for money with higher data speeds.
