Airtel, HMD partner to offer Rs. 2,000 cashback on Nokia smartphones

Airtel has announced a partnership with smartphone maker HMD Global to offer cashback on Nokia smartphones. The partnership will provide affordable 4G smartphone options to customers. As of now, Nokia 2 and Nokia 3 are the two smartphones that are eligible for a cashback of Rs. 2,000 from Airtel.

HMD Global has become a part of Airtel’s ‘Mera Pehla Smartphone’ initiative under which the telecom operator has been offering cashback to make 4G smartphones affordable. Just like the earlier partnership, the Nokia phones will also come bundled with a special Airtel plan of Rs. 169 which offers 1GB 4G data per day and unlimited calling for 28 days.

How to avail Rs. 2,000 cashback

In order to avail the cashback, first of all, you need to pay full MRP amount for both the phones. The Nokia 3 is priced at Rs. 9,499 and you need to pay Rs. 6,999 for the Nokia 2.

Now, after that, you have to insert your Airtel SIM and do 36 continuous monthly recharges with Rs. 169 Airtel plan or recharges worth Rs. 3500. After that, you will get a cash refund of Rs. 500 after first 18 months and another Rs. 1,500 after completing 36 months, making the total cashback benefit to Rs. 2,000. This makes effective price of Nokia 2 at Rs. 4,999 and Nokia 3 at Rs. 7,499.

Nokia 3 specifications

Nokia 3 sports a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass display with 450 nits brightness. The dual SIM phone runs on Android 7.0 Nougat OS out of the box.

The phone is powered by a Quad-core MediaTek MT6737 processor with Mali T720 MP1 GPU. It packs 2GB RAM and 16GB internal memory which is expandable up to 128GB with microSD.

Camera wise, it sports an 8MP autofocus rear camera with LED Flash, f/2.0 aperture, 1.12um pixel size. Upfront, there is an 8MP autofocus front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture and 1.12um pixel size.

Connectivity options on the phone include 3.5mm audio jack, FM Radio, 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS. The phone is powered by a 2,650mAh battery.

Nokia 2 Specifications

The budget phone sports a 5 inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The dual SIM phone runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat and is upgradable to Android 8.0 Oreo. It is a Splash-proof phone and comes with the IP52 rating.

Powering the phone is a quad-core Snapdragon 212 processor with Adreno 304 GPU. Camera wise, it sports an 8MP autofocus rear camera with LED Flash and a 5MP front-facing camera. Memory wise it packs, 1GB RAM, and 8GB internal memory which is expandable up to 128GB with microSD.

Connectivity options on the phone include 3.5mm audio jack, FM Radio, 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS / GLONASS. Powering the phone is a 4,100mAh battery.
