HMD Global announced a total of 4 smartphones and a feature phone at #MWC2018, one of which is the Nokia 1. It is the first Android Go smartphone from Nokia, aimed at the entry level. The price of Nokia 1 is $85 which translates to roughly Rs 5,500, although the final Indian price is not known at this moment.

To recap briefly, Android Go is a trimmed down version of Android 8.0 Oreo which can run on 1GB RAM. It comes with pretty basic hardware requirements and can run most of the essential apps easily.

Nokia 1 Physical Overview

Nokia 1 comes with a basic smartphone design with curved corners and thick bezels around the display. The smartphone comes with a polycarbonate shell body and comes in two colors; Warm Red and Dark Blue. The smartphone is 9.5 mm thick, and it weighs only 131 grams including the battery.


The Nokia 1 comes with a 4.5 inches IPS LCD display, and the resolution is FWVGA. On the back is the 5MP camera with flash and front has the 2MP camera with flash. The back panel of the smartphone is removable and the battery too. Inside the rear panel is the SIM slot and the microSD card expansion slot.
