Xiaomi has been working on the successor of the Mi A1 smartphone for some time now. However, in China the company might launch it as Mi 6X as the Mi A1 was launched in China as Mi 5X before it came to India. Xiaomi has sent out invites for the launch event of a new smartphone on April 25 in China which is likely to be the Mi 6X.
So, just like last year Xiaomi launched Mi 5X and it made its way to India as the Mi A1, so we can expect the Mi 6X will be launched as Mi A2 in India. Xiaomi’s Mi handle on Weibo has announced the launch event of the new Mi 6X phone in China on April 25 and Xiaomi’s Senior Vice President Wang Xiang revealed that the launch event will take place at Wuhan University.
The Xiaomi Mi 6X was recently spotted on TENAA, the Chinese telecommunications certification agency, revealing several key specs of it. Mi A1 is still among the most popular smartphones in India with stock Android UI and dual rear camera, so Mi A2 is supposed to follow the same stock Android approach.
Xiaomi Mi 6X Specifications
As per previous leaks, the smartphone is expected to sport a 5.99-inch display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. It will be powered by a 2,910mAh battery. The smartphone resembles the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro in terms of design as a vertical dual rear camera setup with a fingerprint sensor below it is visible. It has also been mentioned in the past that the Mi 6X is not likely to come with a notch design.
Another leak of the Xiaomi Mi A2 aka Mi 6X showed that it will be powered by a 2.2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 626 SoC. The smartphone was spotted with 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of inbuilt storage. It is also coming with a dual rear camera setup – featuring a 20-megapixel primary image sensor with f/2.0 aperture, and an 8-megapixel secondary sensor with f/1.8 aperture. On the front, the smartphone is rumored to have a 20MP camera with f/2.0 aperture.
