TRANSSION Holdings, the leading Chinese mobile phone manufacturer, has emerged as the fifth largest player in India for Q1 2018. According to a report on India’s Mobile Phone market by Counterpoint Research, TRANSSION has captured 4 percent market share in Q1 2018 in the Indian market.
TRANSSION India made its debut in India back in April 2016 with its smartphone brand itel. Since then the company has consistently increased its footprint here with its multi brand-strategy. As of now, the company has introduced its 5 smartphone brands in India – itel, TECNO, Infinix, Spice and oraimo.
The company has a pan-India presence with a network of 1.05 lakh retailers and more than 3,000 channel partners, enabling the company to cater to expand and engage the channel better. The company has also introduced its after-sales service brand named as “Carlcare” and one COCO (company-owned, company-controlled) service center in India with over 1,000 service touch points for all TRANSSION brands.
If we talk about its brands, itel mobile was first launched in April 2016 in India and since then it has retained its leadership position in the budget segment. Last month, itel mobiles has launched two new smartphones – itel S42 and itel A44 in India. The highlight of the budget smartphones is the latest full-screen display with 18:9 aspect ratio.
Next, TECNO is a premium offline smartphone brand from TRANSSION Holdings that has also emerged as one of the leading smartphone brands within the first year of its operations. The brand started the year 2018 on a promising note with the launch of camera-centric “Camon” series smartphones in India. TECNO Camon iSky, which has been launched just this month has been playing a vital role in TECNO’s growth in India.
Further, Infinix is the online smartphone brand of TRANSSION India which was launched back in August 2017. It has also been well received by the consumers and also one of the highest rated Smartphone brands on Flipkart, with an average rating of 4 or above. The brand has recently launched its first selfie-centric smartphone with Full View display dubbed as “Hot S3” in India in Q1 2018.
