Samsung Galaxy S Lite Luxury Edition launched with 5.8 inch display, Snapdragon 660, more

Korean smartphone maker Samsung has finally announced the launch of Galaxy S Lite, which has been rumored for quite some time now. The device is toned down variant of the company’s flagship device, the Galaxy S8.

The Samsung Galaxy S Lite is also being called the S8 Lite and the S Light. While it comes with a similar design like the Galaxy S8, the specifications of the device are different. Currently, the device has been launched in China and will go on sale from June 1. It is expected to be launched in other countries in the coming days.

The Samsung Galaxy S Lite runs on Android 8.0 Oreo with Samsung’s Experience UI skinned on top. The device features a 5.8 inch HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity display with a resolution of 2220 x 1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18.5:9.

In terms of performance, the Samsung Galaxy S Lite is powered by an octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor coupled with Adreno 512 GPU. In terms of memory, the device comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card.


Coming to the camera department, the device features a 16MP primary camera with f/1.7 aperture, 1.12um pixel size, OIS and an LED Flash. On the front, the device sports an 8MP secondary camera with f/1.7 aperture.

The Samsung Galaxy S Lite is powered by a 3,000mAh battery and comes with fast charge support. The device comes with various sensors including a Fingerprint Sensor, Accelerometer, Barometer, Gyro Sensor, Geomagnetic Sensor, Hall Sensor, Proximity Sensor, RGB Light Sensor, Iris Sensor and a Pressure Sensor.

The Samsung Galaxy S Lite is IP68 certified for water and dust resistance. Connectivity options on the device include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, USB Type-C 3.1, NFC and a 3.5mm audio jack.
