HMD Global launches Nokia 5.1, Nokia 3.1 and Nokia 2.1: Price and Specs

HMD Global has unveiled three new smartphones at an event in Moscow as it had promised. The Nokia 5.1, Nokia 3.1 and Nokia 2.1 are the new mid-range and budget smartphones from HMD and these are the refreshed version of the previously launched Nokia 5, Nokia 3 and Nokia 2 smartphones. All the three smartphones are powered by latest chipsets and feature the latest design as well.

HMD Global has launched these phones with Android One and Android Go programs which means these are running the latest Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. The company’s global marketing manager Neil Broadley also confirmed that all the new Nokia smartphones will get the Android P update via OTA when available.

Nokia 5.1 Specifications

The Nokia 5.1 is a total overhaul of its predecessor Nokia 5 smartphone and it comes with a 5.5 inches full HD+ (1080×2160) display with 18:9 aspect ratio. The display is protected by 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The smartphone comes with a MediaTek Helio P18 chipset paired with 2GB / 3GB RAM and 16GB / 32GB internal storage.

The smartphone comes with a 16MP single shooter at the back with dual tone LED flash and fingerprint sensor placed below the module. The selfie camera is an 8MP sensor with fixed focus lens. The smartphone comes with a 2,970mAh battery and features all the connectivity options including a micro USB port.


Nokia 3.1 Specifications

The Nokia 3 was the most successful budget smartphone last year from Nokia and HMD has decided to refresh this budget smartphone. The new Nokia 3.1 comes with a taller 5.2 inches display with HD+ resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek 6750 chipset coupled with 2GB / 3GB RAM and 16GB / 32GB internal storage.

The Nokia 3.1 comes with a 13MP shooter on the rear with LED flash and an 8MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture for selfies. The smartphone is powered by a 2,990mAh battery and comes with connectivity options like Bluetooth, WiFi, and micro USB 2.0 port.

Nokia 2.1 Specifications

The Nokia 2.1 is an entry level smartphone and it runs on the Android Oreo Go edition just like the Nokia 2. The smartphone comes with a 5.5 inch display with HD resolution and features front-facing stereo speakers. The smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 425 processor.

The smartphone comes with 1GB RAM and 8GB expandable storage which is enough for a smartphone running on Android Oreo Go edition. The smartphone comes with an 8MP rear camera and 5MP front-facing camera. The hardware is powered by a 4,000mAh battery which provides 2 days of battery life.

Pricing and Availability

The Nokia 2.1 comes in three dual color options- Blue + Copper, Blue + Silver, and Grey + Silver. The price of the smartphone is expected to be Rs. 6,999 in India as the global price of the smartphone is $115.

The Nokia 3.1 comes in three color options- Blue + Copper, Black + Chrome, and White + Iron. The smartphone comes in two variants- 2GB RAM + 16GB internal storage and 3GB RAM + 32GB internal storage. The price is set to be Rs. 9499 for the 2GB RAM variant as the global price of the smartphone is $159.

The Nokia 5.1 smartphone comes in three colors – Copper, Tempered Blue, and Black. The smartphone will be available from July 2018 and at a price tag of Rs 12,499. The global price of the smartphone is $219.
