Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro with 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor launched in India: Price, specifications

Alongside the Redmi Note 7, Xiaomi announced the Redmi Note 7 Pro in India as it had promised last week. The main highlight of the smartphone is its 48-megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX586 sensor. The other key features of the phone include a new Snapdragon 675 chipset, FHD+ waterdrop notch display, and 4,000mAh battery.

The Redmi Note 7 Pro price in India starts at Rs. 13,999 for the 4GB/64GB model and the 6GB/128GB variant of the phone will cost Rs. 16,999. The smartphone will go on sale via Flipkart, Mi.com and Mi Home stores starting from March 12. Xiaomi has partnered with Airtel to offer additional 4G data for buyers.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro sports a 6.3-inch FHD+ (2340 ×1080 pixels) display with 19.5:9 as[ect ratio and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It comes with a with a glass back that also has Gorilla Glass 5 protection and a gradient design. It also features nano-coating that makes it splash proof.

Under the hood, it gets a new 2GHz Snapdragon 675 processor with up to 6GB LPDDR4x RAM. It comes with up to 128GB storage that is further expandable up to 256GB with microSD. The smartphone Android 9.0 Pie with MIUI 10 on top.


In terms of camera, it has dual cameras at the back. There is a 48MP primary camera having Sony IMX586 sensor with f/1.79 aperture. It can offers 12MP image output using super pixel tech. However, you can also enable 48MP output in Pro mode. There is a 5MP secondary camera for portrait shots. It sports a 13MP front camera with AI beautify, AI portrait and AI face unlock features.

Connectivity options on the phone include Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4 /5GHz) Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS, USB Type-C, and 3.5mm headphone jack. The device gets power from a 4000mAh battery with Quick Charge 4 fast charging support. The Redmi Note 7 Pro will come in Neptune Blue, Nebula Red and Space Black color options.
