After teasing it last week, Xiaomi has now confirmed that the Redmi Y3 India launch will take place on April 24. The company has also confirmed that it will come with a 32-megapixel selfie camera. The Redmi Y3 will be exclusive to Amazon.in.
There are reports that Xiaomi could launch the Redmi 7 as Redmi Y3 in India with an improved 32 selfie camera. So, we expect that the rest of the specs of the smartphone could be the same as Redmi 7.
Redmi Y3 Expected Specifications, Features
The company has posted some teasers on its Twitter handle that confirm some features of Redmi Y3. Moreover, the Amazon listing also confirms some of its expected features and design. Let’s check out Redmi Y3 specs and features here.
Redmi Y3 Design and Display
The Amazon listing showcases the design of the Redmi Y3 from the back. As per the teaser, it will come with a gradient back with a lining pattern. On the back side, there will be a dual rear camera alongside the fingerprint scanner.
It will also have the P2i nano-coating for a splash-proof body similar to the Redmi 7 series.
In terms of display, the teaser shows that it will come with the new dot notch display similar to the Redmi 7 series smartphones. Just like the Redmi Y2, it could be an HD+ display. The size of the display is still unknown but it is expected to be close to 6-inch.
Redmi Y3 Processor
The Amazon page shows that it will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor for powerful gaming. Since Redmi 7 in China comes with the new Snapdragon 632 processor, we expect the Redmi Y3 to feature the same chipset as well.
Redmi Y3 Cameras
As for the selfie camera, we already know that it will come with the new 32MP sensor. This 32MP selfie camera is the new sensor from Samsung which currently comes in a very few smartphones.
If we talk about the rear camera, it will come with a dual camera set up which could pack a 12MP primary camera and a 2MP secondary camera just like the Redmi 7.
Redmi Y3 Battery
The company has already been teasing that Redmi Y3 will come with a big battery. On the Amazon page, they again hinted a battery with two days of back up. Since most Xiaomi phones come with 4,000mAh battery.
So, we expect that Redmi Y3 will pack at least 4,000mAh battery.
Redmi Y3 Expected Price in India, Availability
The Redmi Y3 price in India is expected to start from Rs. 8,999. Since Xiaomi launched Redmi Note 7 with a starting price of Rs. 9,999 and that comes with a more powerful Snapdragon 660 chipset. So, we expect Xiaomi will keep Redmi Y3’s price a little lower.
If we talk about availability, the Redmi Y3 will be exclusive to Amazon.in and it might go on sale in the first week of May.
