Redmi X India Launch: Specs, Features, Price & Availability [Update: New Poster]

Update: May 2, 2019- Now, an alleged poster of Redmi X has appeared on Chinese social media site Weibo. The two laked posters of the Redmi X confirm the previous leak about the Redmi X that it will have a completely bezel-less display with a pop-up selfie camera.

The leaked render of the phone was spotted on Weibo which seems quite real. It suggests that the Redmi X will feature a fully bezel-less display with no notch and a pop-up camera. The pop-up camera is placed in the middle. It could have a glass back design sporting a triple camera setup.

These leaked posted somehow look convincing, however, there is no authenticity here. It is to be noted here that Redmi president, Lu Weibing has denied that this phone will be called Redmi X. He has said in a Weibo post that “there will be a better name.”

Earlier: After several leaks and rumors, Xiaomi’s Redmi brand in China has posted a teaser of its upcoming pop-up selfie camera smartphone. The 78-second long teaser posted on Weibo in collaboration with Marvel shows the phone in the end after the Avengers: Endgame trailer.

The teaser shows a phone with a pop-up selfie camera and a notchless display. This could be the rumored Redmi X. Redmi President Lu Weibing has already confirmed that they will launch a phone powered by Snapdragon 855.

So, this phone teased in the video could be the Redmi X and Xiaomi could also launch it in India. Let’s talk about its specs, features, price, India launch, and availability.

Redmi X Specs, Features

The key specs and features of this upcoming Redmi flagship phone have leaked several times on Weibo and other sites. We have compiled this article based on those leaks.

Redmi X Design

As per the leaks, the Redmi X will come with a similar design to the Redmi Note 7 series. A leaked image on Weibo shows a pop-up selfie camera phone with a gradient glass back design.

Further, the handset can also be seen with a high screen to body ratio that is also confirmed by the Redmi President. So, up front, it does not feature a notch display, rather it will come with a full-screen display and a popup selfie camera instead.

Redmi X Display

The rumors reveal that the phone will come with a 6.39-inch FHD+ display. Also, it is already confirmed by several leaks and from the official teaser that it will come with a pop-up selfie camera. So, it will be a notch-less display.

Redmi Pro Cameras

The Redmi president has also said that the phone will offer better cameras. So, it is being expected that there will be a triple camera set up at the back which will include a 48MP primary camera, an 8MP telephoto lens, and a 13MP ultra-wide angle lens. There could be a 32MP pop-up front camera.

Redmi X Processor

Redmi President Lu Weibing has also confirmed that the upcoming phone will offer good performance and it will be powered by the Snapdragon 855 chipset. The phone will pack up to 8GB RAM and 128GB storage.

Redmi X Battery and Other Features

The Redmi Pro is expected to come with a 4,000mAh battery. It will support Quick Charge 4 fast charging. It is also expected to come with an in-display fingerprint sensor which has become the industry standard for flagship phones. The phone will also retain the 3.5mm audio jack.

Redmi X Price

Since the Redmi Pro will be a flagship phone with features like Snapdragon 855, pop-up camera design, and triple camera, it will cost more than other Redmi phones. It will be priced around 2999 Yuan in China and so Redmi X price in India could be Rs. 30,000.

Redmi X India Launch

The Redmi X will be launched in China sometimes in May, so the India launch is also expected around the same time.

The company has not officially announced anything with the name Redmi X as of now. So, the name of the phone could also be changed when it officially launches.
