Xiaomi Mi A3 Launched with AMOLED Display, Triple Cameras and Snapdragon 665

After several speculations, Xiaomi finally launched its Mi A3 smartphone at an event in Spain today. As expected, the latest Android One phone from Xiami is a rebranded version of the Mi CC9e but it comes with different hardware.

The key features of the Mi A3 include a 6-inch HD+ AMOLED display, in-display fingerprint scanner, Snapdragon 665 11nm SoC with 4GB RAM, 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor and a 32-megapixel front camera.

Mi A3 Full Specifications

Design-wise, it looks similar to the CC9e and comes with a 3D gradient back with Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The Mi A3 sports a 6.08-inch HD+ (1560 x 720 pixels) AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

Under the hood, it is powered by a new Octa-Core Snapdragon 665 11nm processor with Adreno 610 GPU. It packs 4GB LPDDR4x RAM with 64GB or 128GB UFS 2.1 storage. The storage is expandable up to 256GB with microSD.

The triple camera set up on the back consists of a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor with 0.8μm pixel size, f/1.79 aperture, an 8MP 118° ultra-wide-angle lens with 1.12μm pixel size, f/2.2 aperture, and a 2MP depth sensor.

There is a 32MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture. The front camera sensor merges four pixels into one to form large 1.6μm pixels for better low-light images.

Connectivity features on the phone are Dual 4G VoLTE, Hybrid Dual SIM slot, WiFi 802.11ac dual-band, Bluetooth 5, GPS/GLONASS/Beidou, 3.5mm audio jack, and USB Type-C. The device packs a 4,030mAh battery with 18W fast charging support.

The Mi A3 also packs a 7th gen in-display fingerprint scanner just like the Redmi K20 series. It has an infrared sensor as well. Dimensions of the phone are 156.48×71.85×8.47mm and its weight is just 173.8g. The smartphone runs stock Android 9 Pie and it will also get timely Android updates.

Mi A3 Price, Availability

The Xiaomi Mi A3 price starts at 249 Euros (Rs. 19,225 approx.) for the 4GB RAM+64GB storage version and goes up to 279 Euros (Rs. 21,540 approx.) for the 128GB storage version.

The Mi A3 will be available for purchase in Spain from next week. There is no information about its India launch as of now, however, it should happen soon. Meanwhile, in India, Xiaomi is busy with its Redmi K20 series.
