At the Redmi 8A launch two weeks ago, Xiaomi India head and VP Manu Jain hinted about the Redmi 8 India launch. Now, the company has announced that Redmi 8 will be launched in India on October 9.
Last month, Redmi 8 with model number M1908C3IC got certified by TENAA which revealed its specs as well. Based on that listing, the phone will feature HD+ Dot Notch screen, 12MP+5MP dual rear camera, and 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging.

Design & Display
The phone is expected to come with a similar design as the recently launched Redmi 8A. However, it will have a fingerprint sensor that 8A doesn’t have. Talking about the front, it could sport a 6.26-inch HD+(1520 × 720 pixels) 19:9 2.5D curved glass dot notch display.
The processor of the phone is not known yet. However, it is expected to come with a 2GHz Octa-Core Processor and this could be Snapdragon 665. The phone will come with up to 4GB RAM and up to 64GB storage. The smartphone will run on Android 9 Pie with MIUI 10.
The phone will pack a dual rear camera set up that will include a 12MP primary camera which could be the same Sony IMX363 sensor with f/1.9 aperture that was featured in the Redmi 8A. It also adds a 5-megapixel depth sensor. This will also come with an 8MP front-facing camera just like the 8A.
Battery & Connectivity
The phone is also expected to come with a big 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support via USB Type C, just like the 8A. Connectivity features will include triple card slots, 3.5mm audio jack, Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, and GPS + GLONASS.
Redmi 8 Price in India
The Redmi 7 was launched at Rs. 7,999 in India and the Redmi 8A comes at a starting price of Rs. 6,499. So, we can expect the Redmi 8 price in India could also start at Rs. 7,999.
