Apple iPhone 12 Leaks & Rumors Round-up: Everything You Need to Know

Apple iPhone 12 launched is several months away but there are a lot of rumours around the upcoming iPhones of 2020. As always, there are no confirmed specifications or leaks about the upcoming iPhones. Apple keeps all its projects top secret making it difficult to predict anything about its next products.

Apart from all that, here is a list of all the changes we are looking forward to in the upcoming iPhones. There are some really interesting leaks and rumours which if true will change the iPhone design for the next three to four years.

A Notch-less Design

According to some speculation and leaks, Apple might be thinking of removing the notch from the upcoming iPhones. This information came from the former president of Meizu, he said that Apple was trying to remove the notch in their phones since iPhone X. To support this, Svetapple has released a mockup of the alleged Apple iPhone 12 Pro.

The render shows a thick bezel around the display of the phone, this bezel is not as deep as the notch though. This bezel shows all the necessary sensors present there withing the top bezel. It got eight sensors including the 12MP camera, microphone and speaker. If this is true then the upcoming iPhones will be amazing and may start a new “notch-less” design trend.

Display: 120Hz coming?

Apple might be working on making some changes to the display sizes for upcoming iPhones. According to the speculations, there will be three iPhones according to the screen size; 5.4 inches, 6.7 inches and 6.1 inches. There will still be both types of displays, LCD in the lower models and OLED in the higher models.

Well, there are no confirmed leaks but since Apple already provided a high refresh rate display on iPad Pro. Apple call this tech ProMotion display and it reaches 120Hz max on iPad Pro. The confusing part is that this display on iPad Pro is an LCD panel and apple uses an OLED display in its higher models.

Performance: A14 Chip

According to the rumours, Apple is going to use the 5-nanometer chips fabricated b the TSMC. This 5-nanometer will not be more powerful because of the smaller but also the power consumption is much lower than before. TSMC will be starting the manufacturing process in the second quarter of the year 2020.

When comes to the RAM, iPhones will feature up to 6GB RAM, according to the Barclays analyst Blayne Curtis. The Pro models of the iPhone 12 will feature 6GB RAM while the non-models of the iPhone 12 will feature only 4GB RAM.

Camera: A better LiDAR-based AR

The camera is the most important part of the upcoming iPhones because Apple might be working on porting the iPad Pro 2020’s LiDAR tech to iPhones. This new array of the sensor will make the Augmented reality better when scanning the environment. This uses a laser, a scanner, and a special GPS to create a better 3D model of your house.

In the same way, iPhones in 2020 are said to be using a 3D camera apart from the three-camera for regular photography. This is also in the rumours that Apple will bring a sensor-shift stabilization tech which will enable video stabilization in wide-angle too. This tech optically stabilizes the camera sensor instead of the lenses.

Touch ID will be back?

A Taiwanese site Economic Daily Times suggests that at least one of the 2020 iPhone models will feature the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor from Qualcomm. Samsung is the only smartphone manufacturer which is using this tech in their smartphones. According to some other speculations, Apple might be looking forward to 2021 for the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor launch.

Wrapping up

Apple iPhone 12 will be the most exciting smartphone of the year if all these rumours and leaks will come out to be true. There are still more than six months before the launch event and we may see some more exciting rumours and leaks about the upcoming iPhone 12.
