To start with, long-press on your homescreen and select Widgets. Now, scroll down to find Settings, and drag it to the homescreen- a new menu will appear with various settings shortcuts. From the list of options, find and select “Notification Log.”

You’ll now have a Notification Log shortcut right on your homescreen. Tapping the icon will take you to the list of all your notifications, including app name, content, and time. This includes both, current as well as dismissed notifications.


You can use it to check notifications have you missed so far. Unfortunately, the feature may not work on Samsung, Huawei, and some other phones running customized versions of Android.

2. Using Third-party Apps

There are several third-party apps that let you check dismissed notifications on Android. One such app is FilterBox which not only shows the notification history but also allows lets you view and interact with their content.

Simply install the app, and grant notification access and background permissions. Once set up, it’ll start storing notifications on your phone. You can visit the app anytime to see ongoing as well as dismissed notifications.

Tapping a notification will show you its actual preview alongside time received and time you swiped it away. You can also add customized rules, see detailed stats, and interact with the notification content as you’d do in the tray.

It can also be used to read deleted WhatsApp messages. You can see the message even if it has been deleted for you by the other user.

Notification History, Notification History Log, Unnotification, and NotiSave are some other apps that offer similar functionality.

3. Check Notification History On Android 11

With Android 11, Google lets you check and interact with previous notifications without the need for any third-party apps. All you need to do is head to Settings > Apps & Notifications > Notification History and turn on the toggle.

Once you’ve enabled the feature, Android will start keeping a record of all your notifications. You can visit it anytime to check the notifications you may have missed out or swiped away mistakenly.
