Xiaomi today launched the Redmi 9 Prime smartphone in India. The new budget phone from the company comes with a 6.53-inch Full HD+ LCD water-drop display, MediaTek Helio G80 8nm SoC, quad rear cameras, and a 5020mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. Redmi 9 Prime price in India starts at Rs. 9,999 and it will go on sale from August 6. Reasons To Buy

Big FHD+ Display

The phone packs a big 6.53-inch Full HD+(2340 × 1080 pixels) LCD screen with 400 nits brightness. The display is also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

Helio G80 Processor

The device is powered by Mediatek Helio G80 processor. The octa-core processor has 2x 2GHz Cortex-A75 and 6x 2GHz Cortex-A55 CPUs with up to 950MHz ARM Mali-G52 2EEMC2 GPU. It is also paired with 4GB LPPDDR4x RAM and up to 128GB storage.

Quad Cameras

The quad-camera setup on the phone sports a 13MP primary camera with f/2.2 aperture, an 8MP 118.2° ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture, a 2MP depth and a 5MP 4cm macro camera. It has an 8MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture.

Big Battery

The phone is powered by a massive 5020mAh battery that can offer 185 hours of music, 19 hours video playback and 31 hours calling, as claimed by the company. Moreover, it also comes with 18W fast charging support.

Reasons Not To Buy

Old Design

It sports a polycarbonate body with a textured back that comes in Space Blue, Min Green, Sunrise Flare and Matte Black colours. The phone features a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Dimensions of the phone are 163.30 x 77x 9.1 mm and it is also a little bit heavy with 198g weight. On the front, it has an old dot notch display.

No Fast Charger

The phone supports 18W fast charging, but the company doesn’t offer a fast charger in the box. Only the 10W charger comes inside the box.

Should you buy it?

These were a few reasons to buy Redmi 9 Prime and also there are these reasons that may lead you not to buy this phone. However, going by the price the design and fast charger reasons seem not that important. So, if you are looking for a budget with a good performance you can go for Redmi Note 9 Prime.

The phone will be available via Amazon.in starting from August 6 during the Prime Day Sale. It will also be available from mi.com, Mi Home, Mi Studio, and some other offline retailers soon.
