Alogic’s Elite Power Laptop Stand Review: Value for Money

If you spend all day working on your laptop, you might use laptop stands or risers. While these stands are available in the market, they are mostly cheaper and unreliable. However, the metal ones are always durable and better in the long run. A good stand can help you prevent neck pain and bad posture.

Alogic's Elite Power Laptop Stand Review: Value for Money

I have used many plastic stands, but they have all lost their integrity over time. So when I got my hands on the new Elite Power Laptop Stand from Alogic, I tested it for more than three weeks. I will be sharing my insights with you in this article.

Metal Build, but is that Enough?

As soon as I lifted it out of the box, I felt its weight to be slightly on the heavier side, but it felt sturdy to hold. The Elite Power stand-by ALOGIC is built entirely of aluminium alloy, which makes it more durable and scratch-resistant. Just to open it completely, I had to apply a significant amount of force—a bit too much actually. You can loosen it by loosening the bracket joints on the top plate. Not that hard of a task, and you also get a key to remove the screws within the box.

Looks of the ALOGIC Stand

Once you open the box, you see an all-white metal stand that matches most aesthetic setups. With its minimalistic and elegant design, the Alogic Elite Power Stand literally does stand out. You get two metal plates; the top plate has three screws and rubber padding on it. On the bottom panel, there is a dedicated wireless charging pad. Both plates are attached together with a metallic arm.

The hinges on the arm are chrome-coated, which shines out. They are sturdy, too, and the arm can easily handle more weight than two laptops. In fact, during our testing, we placed a mix of three medium and heavy laptops on the arm, and the stand was completely fine and did not bend at all. You can stretch the arm up to 30cm in height.

Compatibility and Height Adjustment

ALOGIC claims that the stand is compatible with all laptop sizes. So, I placed my 15″ laptop as well as my 17″ laptop on the stand. The outcome? The Elite Power Laptop Stand easily handled them both. The rubber pads on the top plate keep the laptop sturdy and prevent it from wiggling. Additionally, the rubber pads on the bottom prevent the stand from slipping away due to the weight.

However, the hinge is better when loosened; the arm moves more freely. You can set it at different viewing angles depending on whether you are sitting or standing. During testing, I changed the positions multiple times and also placed my Asus TUF F15 on the stand. It was still sturdy.

What I liked most about the Alogic stand is that you can lock it in place using the bracket joints on the plate. Once you have the right angle, simply lock the position in place with the screws, unlike the conventional stands, which have a locking mechanism. These mechanisms, over time, either loosen up or get broken entirely. So kudos to the Alogic team for thinking that through.

Wireless Charging: Handy but needs Work

The stand comes equipped with a dedicated wireless charging dock. You can fast charge your devices and buds using this. When placed on the space, the phone automatically starts charging. However, you must ensure that you position your phone exactly in the white space; otherwise, it can disconnect from charging in between.

Charging Dock

The product’s USP is wirelessly charging on the stand. The brand can optimise it and make it more sensitive. The stand includes a USB Type-A to Type-C cable for plugging it in, however no adapter is provided. You can use your own adapter to power the charging station or directly plug it into your PC.

The wireless charger also has a foreign object detection sensor, which can detect objects that can harm the charger when placed on the charging pad.

Verdict

The Elite Power Laptop, which ALOGIC sells, retails at Rs 5990. Personally, using this has been a pleasure. If you solely look at it from the price perspective, it can seem slightly pricey but not over the top. However, the features and the build quality outweigh the cost. This is a very strong and reliable desk accessory that can save you a lot of money in the long run. For more such reviews, stay tuned to GadgetsToUse.
