Audio plays a vital role in any media content, so having clean audio helps in engagement and makes it much more consumer-friendly. I have tested multiple tools, claiming they can remove background noise and nuances. This is a bold claim to make, but some AI tools have proven themselves worthy. Adobe Podcast is one such tool.
However, for now, it is only limited to cleaning audio. So, I was searching for a tool that can clean a raw video directly. I found a tool called TidyVid. The best part is that this free tool cleans your audio and videos.
TidyVid – Tidying Up Just Fine
This AI tool is great if you want to clean a media file on the go and do not have access to your usual setup. The website allows you to edit any audio and video file for up to five minutes; the max file size it can process is upto 4.8GB.
I liked the minimalistic look of the homepage. I was able to upload the file directly from the link and from my internal storage. The uploading and processing speed of the media file is good. However, if you upload a file close to 4 GB, it can take a few extra seconds.
How Much Can You Clean
Cleaning an audio and video file works on multiple levels. You can clean background noises and the edited file’s sound effects. I tested this tool on a raw video and also on an edited video. In the raw video, it was able to remove maximum noise from the surroundings. I was able to understand the video’s vocals post-cleaning. However, there was some noise leakage even after cleaning.
Raw and unedited footage.

This tool removes all the background noises, including sound effects, added during editing. This is quite a handy feature if you want to extract only the vocals from any unedited video. However, it could have helped the users if they had added a feature that lets you separate the sound effects and vocals. The final video’s results were much better; I could hear each vocal.

Free but Conditions Apply
TidyVid is free, but only for the first five minutes. Yes, you can only edit five-minute videos or multiple small videos summarizing to five minutes. Other tools allow you to clean audio that is thirty minutes long. This can be a dealbreaker for many people. The results are great, but they could have extended the time limit. You can buy 10 minutes for 10$ and 60 minutes for 20$. The latter one seems to be a better deal.
The paid plan also lacks additional features. So, you are really just buying the extra minutes, not any premium features.
Final Thoughts
To sum up, it is a great tool for novice creators and podcasters to remove any background noise. They can use it to edit their raw videos. The results are optimal and fast; you need to buy the minutes, but that is fine. Most of the tools on the market are paid. Functionality-wise, I would rate this 9 out of 10; the pricing could have been better. For more such reads, stay tuned to GadgetsToUse.
