The most obvious one of all, I know you might do this before buying, but make sure you are doing it right. Let me explain, do not purchase the product based on just positive reviews, make sure you have seen the reviews, photos, and videos.

Furthermore, since there are multiple vendors, make sure you check their reviews as well and compare them against the one you were considering to buy from. Detailed reviews, along with pictures or videos, should be your priority.

2. Check Out the Vendor Reviews

Yes, vendor reviews exist! You might not have checked them before, but now that you know, make sure to check them. Since Temu has hundreds of vendors for the same products, it’s tough to know which ones are genuine and which ones are fake. To overcome this, Temu has a vendor rating system. This system can be used if there is a product with great ratings across the board, but you’re not sure. Then, simply click on the product and click on “Sold by.”

Doing this will take you to the vendor’s selling page, and you can see how long the vendor has been selling on Temu and check out their other products. Remember, the sales number, or how long the vendor has been on Temu, has no guarantee that you will get genuine services. Sometimes, a new vendor can also be an authorised dealer. Do check the vendor rating before ordering anything.

Even though I just said that new sellers can be genuine, that is true for like 20% of the vendors on Temu. The remaining 80% is what you need to look out for. 4. Avoid Credit/Debit Card Payments

Although we were not able to verify this scam, it’s better to avoid making indirect payments on the platform.

If you are unsure about using cards, you can use alternative payment methods on Temu. These methods include PayPal, Google Pay, and Apple Pay. These are more secure than cards, as you need authentication before making a payment.

5. Remove Your Card Info

If you don’t have any of the alternative payment methods I mentioned above and are forced to use your card, make sure to remove it from the website. I can’t stress this enough: as soon as you have paid for your order, go and remove your card from the database.
