Camera and Internal Storage

Similar to the iPhone 6, this larger variant also comes with an 8 MP iSight primary camera with support to FHD 1080p video recording, slow motion video recording at 240 fps, enhanced HDR, 43 MP panorama shots and optical image stabilization. Also, there is True Tone dual LED flash as in the iPhone 5s that enhances the color tone, faster phase detection auto focus and f/2.2 aperture to capture 80% more light.

Besides these, the handset also includes a 1.2 MP FaceTime HD front camera with support to capture Burst Shot snaps. So far, the tech world has seen many smartphone camera innovations, but the front-facer burst mode support is seen only in the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus making the unique. Furthermore, users can also create HDR within the videos that are recorded with the front-facer.

On the storage front, the iPhone 6 Plus comes in 16 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB storage options and there is no provision to expand this further. However, the 64 GB and 128 GB storage capacities should be sufficient for the users to store all the content in the iPhone itself.

Processor and Battery

The new second generation 64 bit Apple A8 chipset powers the iPhone 6 Plus. This chipset is developed using 20nm process and it is claimed to contain twice the number of transistors in comparison to the A7 chipset that will deliver twice the energy efficiency. The chipset is rated to provide 25 percent more performance and 50 percent faster graphics respectively.

The non-removable battery in the new iPhone is stated to be juicy enough to power the device delivering it a backup of 24 hours of talk time and 14 hours of continuous video playback on 3G respectively.

Display and Features

When it comes to display, the iPhone 6 Plus is fitted with a larger 5.5 inch Retina HD screen that is given a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. This resolution and screen size combination translates to an impressive pixel density of 401 ppi. Furthermore, the firm claims that the new iPhones are designed to provide 185 percent more pixel count than in the iPhone 5s that will result in better clarity. Also, there is a shatter proof glass and anti-fingerprint oleophobic coating on the handset.

The new iPhone 6 Plus is based on iOS 8 that is optimized to run on the larger screen device. Connectivity wise, the handset has three times faster Wi-Fi, and supports over 20 LTE bands.
