Microsoft has partnered with India based vendors to announce Windows Phone based smartphones. Now, Micromax has managed to be one of the firms that has unleashed couple of Windows Phone smartphones to tap on to the entry-level and mid-range market segment. The lineup of these smartphones is named Canvas Win. Firstly, let us take a look at the specifications of the Canvas Win W092 smartphone in detail.
Camera and Internal Storage
Being an entry-level phone, the Canvas Win W092 packs an average camera set comprising of 5 MP rear camera with LED flash for better low light photography and a VGA front-facing camera that assists in making video calls. Though this camera cannot capture stunning images, it can definitely capture acceptable quality snaps.
The internal storage of the smartphone stands at 8 GB, but for those who prefer increased storage space can make use of the micro SD card slot. However, Micromax has not mentioned the limit of expandable storage, we believe it to stand at 32 GB that is common.
Processor and Battery
The smartphone comes with 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor that will surely get things done in an acceptable manner. This processor is supplemented by 1 GB of RAM that sweetens the deal with pretty decent multi-tasking. This combination is good enough for an entry-level smartphone.
The battery ticking inside it is a 1,500 mAh battery that may appear to be slightly small, but it should be modest enough for the specifications of the Canvas Win W092. It is believed that this battery will deliver a decent backup for a day under mixed usage.
Display and Features
The display unit of the Micromax Canvas Win W092 is a 4 inch capacitive displaypanel housing a resolution of 480×800 pixels. While the resolution appears to be low, we cannot expect more from a phone in the sub Rs 7,000 price bracket. Also, the other budget smartphones in this price range come with similar specifications matching up with this latest entrant.
The interesting feature is that the handset runs on Windows Phone 8.1 platform and it becomes to lowest priced Windows Phone based handset launched so far. Also, the handset supports standard connectivity features along with dual SIM functionality that will rope in prospective buyers.
Comparison
The Micromax Canvas Win W092 will definitely compete with the Nokia X, Moto E, Xolo A500S, Lava Iris X1 and others.
