Build Quality, Design and Form Factor

The device has glossy plastic back cover, however quality of the plastic is better than we have seen in samsung budget phones and device is quite sturdy and it can easily resist drops from waist height as the device feels solid in hands. Edges are curved and round to some extent which gives a great grip of the device and its size is also quite suitable for hand grip, even when the device has glossy finish back its easy to hold and carry because of the light weight of around 120 grams. There is nice shiny chrome bezel frame which holds the device and also give it a premium look. The form factor great due to handy size and light weight, it fairly portable to carry and can be easily fitted in any pocket of jeans or trousers.  The buttons on the device are nice does not feel cheap and also give nice feedback, although these buttons are plastic but feels nice and sturdy.

Camera Performance

IMG_0902

The rear camera is a 5 MP shooter its pretty average in performance the day light photos are good but not so good in details however colors looks good, but low light photo show some high noise levels, you can also shoot 720p HD video from the back camera. The front camera is fixed focus and VGA quality and don’t expect much but you can do video chat from the from camera. Check out some camera samples taken in indoors and outdoors from rear camera.

Macro shots looks nice but make sure you hold the device at the right distance not too close and not too far from the object to capture it nicely. HDR mode is also supported in the rear camera photo modes but photo taken form the rear camera lack details.

Display, Memory and Battery Backup

You have 4 Inch WVGA display with resolution of 480 x 800 gives you fairly good pixel density, you might feel the display is little smaller specially while watching videos but the viewing angles are good if not the best when you see the screen from extreme viewing angles, however the sunlight visibility is just ok if not too good. The in built memory is 4 Gb out of which you get around 1.41 Gb available to the user for storing pictures, video and other data. The battery backup is not so good but it will last for you for around one day with moderate usage which means minimal use of the device for entertainment like watching videos, playing games etc.

Software, Benchmarks and Gaming

The software UI is stock android and its snappy and as fast as you might expect on a decent budget smartphone, there is no lag in the UI unless you are running very resource hungry app or graphic task on the phone. Its decent on the gaming front as it can play casual games like Temple Run oz and subway surfer without any issues on graphics and touch screen quality. The benchmarks scores are given below.

Benchmark Scores

  • Quadrant Standard Edition: 3343
  • Antutu Benchmark: 8961
  • Nenamark2:  33.0 fps
  • Multi Touch:  5 point

Sound, Video and Navigation

The sound quality from the loudspeaker is good but too loud on the volume but it was pretty clear on the device we tested. The headphones which comes with in the package looks exactly like we have seen with older generation iphone. The device can play 720p videos without any audio and video sync issues but for 1080p videos it might not play some of these videos but you can use MX player to play the unsupported videos. This device can be used for GPS navigation but you will need to enable GPS Satellite and Assisted GPS under location settings, it might take around 5-7 minutes for the first GPS coordinates lock.

Conclusion and Price

Panasonic T11 is great choice for a price of around Rs. 9000 or even less, its one the most stable android phone with decent build quality but don’t except much from camera although it will be good for day light photos. You might feel the display is smaller once you use it for some days but the viewing angles are pretty good. In terms of performance it will better then most of the other budget android phones priced below Rs 10,000
