Samsung Galaxy J2 (6) Physical Overview

The all new Galaxy J2 comes packed in a totally new shell, with some interesting changes in the design. It still comes packed in a plastic body but the quality feels much improved compared to the last year’s J2. It looks more curvy, handy and easier to use with one hand. Samsung has ditched the faux leather back this time, and has introduced a slight hump with stripes on the back.

The new smart LED around the camera adds up to the looks and makes it look totally different from any other phone available in the market right now. Sides have chrome lining, which makes it look good from the front.

Display

J2 2016 (10)

Samsung Galaxy J2 (6) has a 5.0 inches Super AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 720p. The display comes with a pixel density of 294 ppi and color depth of 16M colors. The display on this device is one of the best in its category. It has good sharpness, vivid colour production and it can be viewed from extreme angles as well. The best thing is the Outdoor mode, which allows you to see the content on screen even under bright sunlight.

Camera Overview

It comes with an 8 MP primary shooter with f/2.2 aperture and LED flash. It can record video up to 720p@30fps. The front camera is 5 MP with f/2.2 aperture. Both the cameras perform good in natural light but as we move to dimmer areas, it shows sign of noise and grains.

Gaming Performance

I tried playing Modern Combat 5 on this handset, which is a mid level graphic intense game. When I started the game, my experience was smooth and buttery but as I proceeded, I started noticing minor frame drops in busy areas. Although these minor glitches will not affect your game-play but you’ll have to make sure that you have closed all the background apps before starting the game.

If you’ll run the game with multiple apps running in the background, then you might face some lags and slowness in the game. I Played Modern Combat for 30 minutes and noticed a battery drop of 9%. Highest temperature noticed was 37.3 degree Celsius

Conclusion

Samsung Galaxy J2 (6) is a refreshing device from Samsung. Looking at the quality Samsung offers in its smartphone, it is the best looking J series phone that has come so far. I won’t call it a bad deal until and unless you compare it with the Chinese competitors in the similar price range. So if you are someone who prefers a brand before value then you can surely consider this smartphone.
