Apple To Start Assembling iPhone SE In India Soon

Couple of week ago IT minister of Karnataka, Priyank Kharge welcomed Apple‘s proposal of beginning the initial manufacturing in the state. It now looks like Apple is finally going to start assembling iPhone SE in Bengaluru, India in upcoming months. Apple’s manufacturing partner Wistron Corp will be setting up a plant in Bengaluru, India which will basically focus on assembling the iPhone SE.

As of now, Apple will only focus on assembling iPhone SE and they don’t have any plans of manufacturing any other models. Apple is expected to assemble around 300,000 to 400,000 iPhone SE handsets in India according to the sources. The company may also soon start assembling other Apple devices however it’s hard to say exactly which devices will be assembled.

iPhone SE Specifications

iPhone SE comes with a 4-inch LCD IPS display with (1136 x 640 pixel) resolution. It runs on a 1.8GHz Dual-core 64 bit Apple A9 chip-set with 2GB of RAM. It has got 16GB or 64GB of internal storage.

It comes with a 12 MP rear camera with f/2.2, 29mm, dual tone LED flash and is capable of shooting time lapse, slow motion and 4K videos. On the front, it has got a 1.2MP selfie camera with f/2.4, 31mm and is capable of shooting HD (720p) videos.


iPhone SE

It is backed up by a 1624 mAh battery which is sealed inside. It runs on iOS 9.3 which is up-gradable to iOS 10.2. It comes with a Touch ID fingerprint sensor. Sensors include accelerometer, gyro, proximity and compass. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v.2, GPS/A-GPS, and NFC.

iPhone SE Price

Apple iPhone SE was launched in India last year in April starting from Rs. 39,000 for the base model. However now it’s available for Rs 28,985 for 16GB variant and Rs. 38,741 for 64GB variant.
