Huawei’s sub-brand Honor is preparing to launch a new smartphone dubbed as Honor 10 next month. The company has started sending media invites where it is teasing a smartphone that is expected to be the Honor 10. Notably, the upcoming smartphone is going to feature a full-screen display and AI-powered camera. The launch event is scheduled on May 15 in London.

The new Honor 10 is the successor to the Honor 9 that was introduced in June last year. However, in India, it will be the successor to the Honor View 10 which was launched in India earlier this year at a price of Rs 29,999. Interestingly, the Honor 9 never released in India and instead, the Honor 9 Lite launched at a price of Rs. 10,999.

Honor 10 Specifications

In the launch invite, a shadow of a smartphone is seen next to a camera shutter which opens to reveal the words ‘AI’, hinting at an advanced camera on the upcoming smartphone. Also, the Honor 10 will be the in the 18:9 display smartphones line-up. Also, the smartphone could also feature a more compact form factor and a smaller display without a notch.

The invite doesn’t reveal the name of the handset, but we do know that the device will have a built-in AI-powered camera. So, the phone might feature the Kirin 970 chipset that includes a dedicated Neural Processing Unit (NPU) for real-time AI processes right on your smartphone. This is the same chipset which powers the Honor View 10, Mate 10 Pro, and the latest P20 Pro.

Other details on the Honor 10 are not known at the moment. However, what we do know now is that the display and camera will be its highlights. So, there could be a dual-camera setup with AI features. A few pictures showing off the Honor 10 have recently leaked in China and they tell that the handset may come with metal frame and glass back. The phone is supposed to come in two variants- 4GB RAM and 64GB storage and 6GB RAM with 128GB storage.
