HTC Desire 12, Desire 12 Plus launched: Price, specifications and more

Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC today announced its latest midrange devices in the Desire serie, dubbed as the HTC Desire 12 and Desire 12 Plus. The devices will go on sale in Europe starting from April this year.

Both the devices come with an 18:9 display. While the Desire 12 comes with a Mediatek processor, the Desire 12 Plus is powered by a Snapdragon processor. Apart from the hardware, the two devices also differ in terms of Android version.

The HTC Desire 12 runs on Android 7.0 Nougat with HTC Sense UI skinned on top. The device features a 5.5 inch HD+ 2.5D curved glass display with a resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels.

In terms of performance, the device comes with a Quad-Core Mediatek MT6739 processor coupled with Adreno 506 GPU. In terms of memory, the device comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 2TB via a microSD card.

Coming to the camera department, the HTC Desire 12 features a 13MP primary camera with f/2.2 aperture, PDAF, BSI sensor and an LED flash. On the front, the device comes with a 5MP secondary camera with f/2.4 aperture. It is powered by a 2,730mAh battery.

The HTC Desire 12 Plus runs on Android 8.0 Oreo with HTC Sense UI skinned on top. The device features a 6 inch HD+ 2.5D curved glass display with a resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels.

In terms of performance, the device comes with a Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450  processor coupled with PowerVR Rogue GE8100 GPU. In terms of memory, the device comes with 2GB RAM with 16GB internal storage and 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage options.

Coming to the camera department, the HTC Desire 12 Plus features a 13MP primary camera with f/2.2 aperture, PDAF, BSI sensor and a 2MP secondary camera for bokeh effects. On the front, the device comes with an 8MP secondary camera with f/2.0 aperture. It is powered by a 2,965mAh battery.
