Huawei introduced Honor 6X couple of weeks back in India and the first flash was held around 2 PM yesterday exclusively on Amazon. It features a dual rear camera setup and a nice 8MP selfie camera. Sadly this device still runs on Android Marshmallow (6.0) with company’s EMUI 4.1 skin on top which is kind of old considering Android Nougat (7.0) is already out. At CES last month, company promised that it will be pushing out Nougat update in Q2 2017 for Honor 6X and they kept their promise.
Huawei will be rolling out EMUI 5.0 update based on Android Nougat (7.0) from March. However one should keep in mind that the confirmation was meant for US market so the update may take a bit longer time for other countries. Huawei also mentioned that they are pushing out this update based on consumer feedback. Although this is EMUI 5.0 update, it won’t be having as many features as Huawei’s flagship devices running on same skin EMUI 5.0 have.
In a statement, Huawei confirmed and said:
“The new EMUI for Honor 6X will be arriving next month, and it’s been updated based on consumer feedback. In case you or your team is planning a full review any time soon, it might be worthwhile to wait!”
