Lenovo Z5 with 19:9 display, dual cameras launched: Price, Specifications, Features

Chinese smartphone maker Lenovo has launched its latest premium smartphone dubbed as Lenovo Z5 at an event held in Beijing today. While previous rumors suggested that Lenovo Z5 will come with a full bezel-less design, the smartphone sports a significant bezel on the bottom and a notch on top.

The Lenovo Z5 is the latest mid-range smartphone in the ‘Z series’ and its pricing starts at 1299 Yuan. Even though the company teased it as a bezel-less smartphone, and it will pack 4TB storage, while it comes with a 6.2-inch notch display with 19:9 aspect ratio and 90% screen-to-body ratio and only 128GB storage. Other highlights of the phone include Snapdragon 636 SoC, a vertical dual rear camera setup with AI capabilities etc.

Lenovo Z5 Specifications

Coming to the full specs, the Lenovo Z5 comes with a glass back with 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass protection, anti-fingerprint coating, and a 6 Series aluminum metal frame. There is a 6.2-inch FHD+ (2246 × 1080 pixels) 19:9 2.5D display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection at the front.

Powering the phone is a 1.8GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 636 processor with Adreno 509 GPU. It packs 6GB RAM with 64GB or 128GB storage, which is expandable up to 256GB with microSD. The phone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with ZUI 3.9 on top and it is upgradable to ZUI 4.0 and Android P.


Coming to the optics, the phone features a 16-megapixel primary rear camera with f/2.0 aperture along with an 8MP secondary rear camera to capture depth information in portrait shots with AI support. It has an 8MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture, AI beautification and face unlock.

The dual SIM phone has 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS, USB Type-C as connectivity options. It packs a 3300mAh battery with support for 15W fast charging.

Price and Availability

The Lenovo Z5 comes in Aurora Blue, Black, and Indigo Blue colors. It is priced at 1299 yuan (Rs. 13,625 approx.) for the 64GB version in Black, and 1399 yuan (Rs. 14,670 approx.) for the Aurora and Indigo Blue versions with same storage. The 128GB storage version costs 1799 yuan (Rs. 18,870 approx.). The phone is available to order in China starting today and it will go on sale from June 12.
